- [Instructor] Now that you've assessed your course's online readiness, you're ready to plan the logistics of the transition. And the first thing I recommend you do is decide on your online learning environment so that you have a supportive framework in which to build your virtual classroom. The most common platform for teaching online is a learning management system, or LMS. This will serve as the space where you conduct your online classroom. It's within your LMS that you will make announcements, post and track assignments, provide video and other media, facilitate discussions, create learning activities, track student progress, deliver feedback, grade student work, and more.
