From the course: Preparing GoPro Footage for Editing

What you should know before watching this course

- In this course, I'm going to assume that you have a basic familiarity with your camera. This class is not about how to shoot on a GoPro, it's what you do with the footage afterwards. Now, for this course, we're gonna specifically focus on footage and time lapse material. I'm gonna assume that you know how to shoot these items. If you don't, feel free to check out the GoPro course available in the Online Library that will walk you through all of the options when it comes to shooting. Additionally, if you want to know more about processing still images, we also have a course available here that you can watch for that. This is about footage, so make sure you know how to record either a time lapse sequence or video files on your camera. Chances are, you're pretty good at this already and now you want to do something with that footage, 'cause it's no fun to capture footage that you never share with the world. If you're not familiar with your particular camera, then make sure you either watch those courses or brush up on the basics in your camera's user manual. I'm also going to assume that you have the ability to connect your camera to your computer. This means that you have the camera and the cable that was included in the box. Typically, this'll be some flavor of a USB cable, or ideally you've picked up a card reader that can work with the material and transfer it a lot faster. We'll discuss card readers more later, but this is a small and affordable piece of hardware that will really speed up the transfer times and make it easier to get better results. All right, with these things in mind, let's go ahead and continue to explore this workflow.
