- Apple's iMovie is a built-in consumer video editing tool.…However, it's quite powerful,…and there's a lot you can do with it.…Let's explore how to import GoPro footage.…When you launch iMovie,…you're gonna wanna click on the Media tab first.…Now, if you have other footage in your system,…it may be visible, particularly if you had…an Aperture or a Photos library.…I'm gonna choose to import footage.…File, import media.…You can now navigate to the drive…where the footage is stored.…
Let's take the ones here directly from the GoPro camera…and choose import, select it.…The media comes in and it's ready to use pretty quickly.…When you press play, you'll see that the H.264 file…plays back pretty well.…You can easily adjust what part of a shot is used…and it does come in.…Now, let's import some more media.…This time, we'll go to the optimized media…and choose import, select it.…
And here's the GoPro CineForm codec.…If we select this footage,…again, you see it plays back just fine.…The optimized media is a bit easier…for your computer to play back.…
