More power means more shooting time. Not only can you buy extra GoPro and external batteries for your GoPro HERO5 camera, GoPro provides additional add-ons like an external battery to help you extend the life of your camera. Author Richard Harrington shows you how to use an external battery with your GoPro HERO5 Black or HERO5 Session.
- Why would you need more power?…Well, the simple answer is to keep shooting.…Let's say you were shooting something like…a corporate event or a concert…or you had a situation…where you wanted to install the camera…for an extended period of time.…Well, more power means more shooting time.…Thanks to higher capacity memory cards…you're likely going to run out of battery power…well before you run out of card space.…So if you're going to be shooting…for an extended period of time…an external battery really comes in handy.…But things get a little bit confusing.…
Now with previous generations of GoPro cameras…we had a feature called the Battery BacPac.…This would easily hook…on to the back of the camera with a hinge.…It's simply detached…and then you can take the hinge and connect it…and snap it into place.…That generation of GoPros for the last few versions…had a small slot here…where you could connect external power devices…or connect the LCD BacPac.…Now you might find that these Battery BacPacs…are still sold online or in stores…
