- [Instructor] Throughout this course, I'll be a dictator. I'll be dictating exactly how to create a very particular condensed gothic font. I'll be telling you not only which style of capital R and lowercase G we'll be making, but the width of the stems, the shape of the curves, and even the space surrounding the letters, and just like in real life, I hope you'll disagree strongly with a dictator. I hope you have your own opinions, and I hope those opinions are different than mine. The font we'll make in this course is not the font I would have made yesterday, and it's certainly not the font I'll make tomorrow. It's not even a finished font. It's an opening argument with you and myself. It's a point of departure toward somewhere or something better. So, do exactly as I tell you, and then bristle with the fact that I'm telling you exactly what to do. When we're done, you'll have a decent starting point for creating a font that's uniquely your own. So we'll begin constructing our font…
