Lowercase angles: y and z

- [Instructor] The lowercase italic z is a really bizarre form. It reverses the stress of the Roman so we're going to start by opening up these corners. So Control + Click, open corner and that will allow us to move the spine independent of the horizontal strokes. So I'm going to thin down the spine to 32 units. So 37, 32.8, 31, a little bit more. And then I'm going to thicken up the horizontal. So I'll select these points. So I've got the handle down there. And I want to open them up to 75. So we're already seeing the reverse stress, thin spine, thick horizontals. And the next thing we want to do is introduce the sort of characteristic flag-like wave of these horizontals. So we'll start by taking these two points and rounding them. So we'll round the corners here. So filter, round corners, and we'll set the radius to 100, just a nice, big, chunky amount.
