Key differentiators - Glyphs App Tutorial
From the course: Design a Condensed Sans Serif Typeface
Key differentiators
- [Instructor] Apart from changing the stroke and counter proportions and the curve shapes, there are many possibilities for giving your font it's own unique character via letter shapes. For instance, converting some or all of the diagonal caps to arches and verticals, or changing the midpoint in letters like the A, B, E, F, and H. And there are many other small alterations away from the basic condensed gothic model that are possible while still maintain the color and spacing commonly associated with the style. Of course the truly unique changes to the condensed gothic form, the ones that make it yours, are things that I can't imagine, because they exist in your mind and not mine. I trust you're up for the challenge and I truly look forward to seeing what you make of this model.
