- [Voiceover] We make some pretty rapid progress when we reuse letter parts. Now we're going to slow things down a bit and address the outliers, those unique characters that don't directly borrow shapes. The lowercase A is our first oddball. The stem width will need to match the lowercase I, but the rest of the form is open to interpretation. Will the terminal on the top mirror the treatment of the lowercase C, or will it deviate slightly to accommodate the bowl underneath? Will the bowl be large or small? And how will it attach to the stem? These are questions you'll have to answer on your own, and those answers will have a big impact on your design. It's generally thought that the lowercase A and G are the most indicative of any design. They're not the most common, but they require the most independent decisions. And speaking of the lowercase G, and here we're talking about the double-story G, what degree of balance is there between the top and the bottom? And how will the ear be…
