Angled italic capitals
- [Instructor] The capitals and numbers with obliques behave pretty much the same way as the basic italic capitals, but the distortion from slanting and oblique strokes is more extreme. Measure the Roman and reset the italic obliques to 95% of those measurements, taking care to preserve the weight of the thins from the Roman. Let's select all of these using the Type Tool. We'll condense them by 5%. And then slant them by 15%. Now let's go to the A. So measuring here I've got 87 and here I've got 28. So I'm going to select these points on the outside, because I want to thin down this stroke and thicken up this one. So just moving the outside points to the left will accomplish both simultaneously. So here I'm at 85 and here I'm at 30, so let's move these two points more or rather two units more. And now we're at 32, 32, and 85. Onto the K. We have a straight stem here we need to thicken up. And here you can really see the distortion. So this should be 85 and instead it's 97. So I don't…
