- [Narrator] You can create a link to a file that never changes. And you want to do this, when you want to point somebody to a document but you want to make sure that further commits are not going to change the contents of this file. To do that, when you are in any page and git hub you can hit the Y key and take a look at my URL bar before I do this. If I hit the Y key, the link changes to a hash. That hash is a special set of characters that are never going to change. So whenever I send this link to anybody it's going to be this version of this file. That evergreen link is not going to change even when this file is updated with new commits.
