- [Instructor] For this course, no prior knowledge of Git is required, but I would suggest having a basic understanding of programming, or you've tinkered around with a website or two. And make sure you feel comfortable downloading and installing software, using a text editor, and working with the file system. Though Git and version control has a variety of uses, this course will mostly focus on using version control in the context of being a programmer. Throughout the course, I'll be using a Mac computer, but it's not a requirement. You can follow along using Windows, but just note that there may be some differences between the operating systems.
