- [Voiceover] Hey there, this is Ray Villalobos, Staff Author at lynda.com, and I wanna welcome you to Up and Running with Git and GitHub. In this short course, I'm gonna show you the most common Git commands and how to work with existing GitHub projects. I'll start by showing you how to install Git and initialize your first repository. Then, I'll show you how to do common tasks like, moving files from your work environment to staging. I'll then show you how to manage your log and control the state of your work environment with branches. In the second chapter, I'll show you how to clone and work with existing GitHub repositories so that you know how to make a copy of a GitHub project locally, download one or all branches of a project, and learn to use a GitHub branch as a template for a new project.
So, if you're ready for a fast intro to Git, then let's get started Up and Running with Git and GitHub.
