Outlining vs. scripting your show

- [Voiceover] Another decision you'll probably want to make early on in planning your podcast is whether you want to create a general outline of each show or whether you'll want to go with a full-blown script. Now this is a decision that really depends on how comfortable you are in front of a microphone. If you're familiar enough with your topic and you can speak or riff on a subject without stopping and starting or saying a lot of ums or uhs, then you can probably just use a brief outline of talking points for your show. For example, maybe something like this. So, for some people, this list of talking points is plenty of information. They can take this and run with it. Generally, people who have had a good deal of experience behind a microphone or with public speaking can work like this. On the other hand, if you're really more of a writer, or if you haven't done much voice recording or speaking, you'll probably feel more comfortable writing a detailed script.
