Assuming that you're recording at home, you're most likely going to have to do a little sound-proofing of your recording space. You don't want to hear fans, kids screaming, dogs barking, or other external sounds in your podcast. This video offers some tips you can try to improve the sound proofing or your recording location.
- [Voiceover] In this movie I'd like to briefly discuss…recording locations…and go over some of the things you can do…to make sure the only sounds recorded in your podcast…are the ones you want.…Now I'm working under the assumption…that you're gonna be recording your podcast…in your home or office…and not in a professional recording studio.…If you are in a professional studio…you don't need to be watching this movie.…So assuming that you're recording at home…you're most likely gonna have to do a little soundproofing…of your recording space.…You don't wanna hear fans or a kid screaming…or dogs barking in your podcast,…unless of course you're doing a kid screaming,…dog barking, fan buzzing podcast show.…
But if not here's some things you can try…in no particular order.…Record in a small room with a door you can close,…stuff towels under the door to decrease the level…of any noise that might slip through,…hang some tapestries on the wall.…The idea is to prevent your voice from echoing off the walls…and corners in your recording room.…
