Exercise: Creating features from a core

- [Instructor] The best way to learn how to make video games is to actually make them, so in this course, we'll practice creating a feature set from a core. Let me get a few definitions out of the way first. A core is the one thing a game is about, a statement of purpose. A core loop is that core in motion, it is the means by which a player progresses in the game. A feature set contains the elements of the game's design that the team wants to achieve in its development. In this exercise, you will create a core, a core loop, and a feature set from that core. Think back to when you were a little kid. What did you want to be when you grew up? Your answer might be exciting or fanciful, but whatever it is you wanted to be, let's stick with it. I'm guessing some of you wanted to be veterinarians or educators or firemen, or a member of law enforcement. Perhaps you wanted to be a rock star or an astronaut or a dancer, whatever it is, write that down somewhere. We can make a game out of…
