Join Justin Seeley for an in-depth discussion in this video Using the batch processor, part of GIMP Essential Training (2012).
Up until now, we have been doing things on a image by image basis here inside of GIMP,…but I realize that most of the time we are going to be working with more than one image…at a given time, and we may want to do the same action to multiple images at the same…time inside of GIMP.…So in this movie, we are going to be exploring one of the automation features inside of GIMP…known as batch image processing.…And so in order to do that, what you want to do is go up to the File menu, and choose Batch…Image Manipulation.…And if you are not familiar with what this does, this actually launches an external window, …and inside of this window, you're able to not only specify steps that you want to perform…on images, but also specify entire folders of images as well that you want to run these actions on.…
Once you have set up the actions, and the files, then you can select an output folder, and then…you can put all of the resulting images in that folder, and then preview them after the fact.…So let's are go ahead and do this now.…

Q: This course was updated on 09/04/2014. What changed?
A: We added a movie that explains why you can't achieve some of the effects shown in these tutorials in the Windows version of GIMP. This is due to the fact some plugins have been removed since this course was recorded. Watch the "IMPORTANT: Before we get started" to learn more about how these changes will impact you.
