Using Quick Masks: GIMP Essential Training

To make accurate selections in GIMP, you may need to begin by making a rough selection, and then refine that selection with the Quick Mask feature, which is demonstrated by Mike Rankin. It allows you to display a selection as pixel-based mask over an image. You can then use painting techniques to edit that mask, and then quickly convert the quick mask back to a normal selection.
