Join Justin Seeley for an in-depth discussion in this video Using Liquid Rescale, part of GIMP Essential Training (2012).
Alright, now we have come to one of favorite features inside of GIMP; it's something called Liquid Rescale.…So basically what this tool allows you to do is rescale an image, and actually reshape…the image at the same time.…So basically, let's say we had this photo here,…and I wanted to take this photo from the current orientation, which is a landscape orientation,…and make it a portrait orientation.…But I wanted to do so without actually losing any of this information, like on the outside…or anything; I wanted it to just simply squish together.…

Q: This course was updated on 09/04/2014. What changed?
A: We added a movie that explains why you can't achieve some of the effects shown in these tutorials in the Windows version of GIMP. This is due to the fact some plugins have been removed since this course was recorded. Watch the "IMPORTANT: Before we get started" to learn more about how these changes will impact you.
