Stroke paths

- [Narrator] Let's take a look at how to apply strokes along a path in GIMP. In our exercise file, we have this spiral path and I have a few empty white layers that I can use to see the effects of applying different strokes to this path. So, with the bottom white layer selected and visible, I'll go to the paths dialogue and turn off visibility for the path, just so it isn't distracting. And then click the button to paint along the path. In the stroke path dialogue box, I have the option to stroke with the line using either the most recently used solid color or pattern. I can apply antialiasing to smooth curves, I can set the line width, and choose a line style. And if I wanted a dotted or dashed line, I can create a custom pattern by clicking and dragging here or I can choose a preset. I can also use any of my brushes, and I'll talk more about brushes in later movies, but for now, just know that you can pick any of the painting tools in GIMP from this menu to stroke along a path…
