Link and group layers

- [Instructor] Let's see how to group and link layers in GIMP. In our exercise file, we have the same collection of ovals that we've been using to explore GIMP's layer features. And let's say that we wanted to be able to move the three vertical ovals around in the image as easily as possible and without changing their positions relative to one another. Well this is the perfect job for linking layers, because linked layers will move in unison. To link these three, I'll go to the layers dialogue and notice the column just to the right of the visibility controls. As I move my cursor up and down, I can see that there are some check boxes here. Clicking them will link the layers together, so I'll do that. I can see the little chain icons indicating that the layers are now linked. So now when I drag with the move tool, all the link layers will move and maintain their positions relative to one another. If I want to link all the layers in the document, I can hold the shift key and click one…
