Join Lee Lanier for an in-depth discussion in this video Setting up an explosion, part of VFX Techniques: Compositing an Explosion with Fusion 7.
- (mumbles) the detour inside Autodesk Maya…to take a look at the explosion…And, in fact, I have the first scene file…that was used to make the explosion, the main part.…I've included a simplified version of this…that you can open.…That's under File > Open Scene.…If you go to the Exercise Files,…you could find it in the MayaFiles,…and it's called BlastDemo.…And here it is.…Now, it doesn't include everything.…It did not include the car body here,…but, in terms of the fluid part of it,…everything's there.…So you can use it as a template…to make your own explosions.…
And you can see what the settings are.…So, what do you need to create a fluid dynamic explosion?…Well, you need a container to start with.…It's the fluid container where the simulation occurs,…and fluid dynamics is able to simulate something…that has a base material, like air or vapor or gas,…that has temperature that might vary,…that has possibly a fuel that could cause a reaction,…like say, atomized gasoline.…And other things like turbulance, noise,…velocity, and so on, that determines…
