The joint origin

- [Narrator] Hi, in this lesson we will discover the joint origin. Let's head up to assemble and grab joint, taking note that the shortcut key is letter J. Notice as I hover over our component, there is a glyph attached to my cursor. This glyph is called the joint origin. This glyph is very critical for us to make components and assign motion types. Notice as we hover over this face and move the snap points. In addition joint origins can only be placed on snap points. So notice if I left click, our joint origin went to the nearest snap point. Let me deselect this current selection, hitting X, and rotate and hover over this face. Notice when we hover over a specific face, that face highlights. As this face is currently highlighted, notice when I hold and press control and move over to this face, this face is not highlighted, meaning when we hold control to a specific face, that face will be locked.
