Subtracting the excess material

- [Instructor] We need to subtract the slot material from each side of the support bar. Fusion 360 has a combine command that allows us to subtract or cut away material by referencing existing 3D bodies. Activate the combine command in the toolbar or the modify dropdown. The target body is always the body that you want to subtract from. Select the support bar as the target body. We'll then select the side panel as the tool body. Take note that you can use multiple 3D bodies for the tool selection. However, only one target body can be selected. Let's select the right side panel as an additional tool body. This will allow us to create both slots at the same time. Set the operation to cut since we're subtracting the material. Notice how the side panels turn red to preview the cut operation. Looking closely, you'll see the slots are going to be cut away on each side. Before clicking OK, you'll want to select Keep Tools.…
