Setting up your project - Fusion 360 Tutorial
From the course: Design for Additive Manufacturing: FDM
Setting up your project
- [Instructor] For our project, we're going to create a box with a print in place hinge. We'll optimize this design to print on an FDM printer with a single extruder. So no support material required. We'll be using some of the design rules we learned in the course, like using 45 degree angles to avoid overhangs, optimizing for line width, utilizing bridges and understanding clearance to complete this project. So I'm already in Fusion 360 with a new untitled document. I just want to check that we're all on the same page before we get started and check our preferences. So go up to Fusion 360 at the top and choose Preferences. I like the Default Modeling Orientation to be set to Z up, so make sure that yours matches. And choose OK. Down at the bottom here under Grid and Snaps, also check that the Layout Grid is on and that here we are in the MODEL workspace.
