Modeling the hinge

- [Instructor] Now let's turn this sketch of a hinge into a three-dimensional hinge. Let's go into our home view over the view cube and click on that house button and then I'm going to zoom in nice and tight on the sketch. If you mouse over the sketch, you can see these various shapes appear. I'm going to select this bottom triangle shape, hold down the Shift key and select that hollow circle. That's going to form our bottom hinge. I'll bring up the marking menu by right clicking and choosing extrude. So when you extrude, I can just drag out this arrow either way and type in a dimension, but I have some other options because what I actually want to do is I want to tie the dimensions of this hinge to the dimensions of the box. So let's take a look at our menu over here. We have our two profiles selected. The extrusion is starting on the profile plane going one direction, but I want to change the extent and this time to object. I'll hold down the Shift key and my center mouse wheel and…
