Line width and wall thickness

- [Instructor] Now let's explore an exercise about wall thickness. Go up to the project panel, Add Models, and choose Optimize2 and Open. All right, right away I'm going to hop in to a Print Preview so we can take a look at this print. To take a closer look, I'm going to choose Up to Layer and zoom in nice and tight. So you can see that each thin wall here has essentially two line width passes. The thing about MakerBot Print is, you can't actually adjust your line width, so if you want to optimize thin walls to print well and make a bot print, you are going to need to do some testing beforehand and then take that knowledge into your CAD program. So when I built this file, I built it for a .4 millimeter line width, knowing that it would print really well in MakerBot Print.
