Introduction to sculpting the hanger
- In a previous chapter, we created a headphone hanger using a more traditional solid modeling workflow. Creating sketches, extruding those profiles and then iterating on what was already created to finish off the design. These set of videos gets to a similar result but uses something that is more unique to the Fusion 360 environment compared to other solid modeling tools. We'll be using the Sculpt workspace as the major modeling tool in these set of videos which affords a more flexible and free form design process compared to something so stodgy and confined as Sketch Profiles. One warning though, the Sculpt environment does indeed exist on the timeline but the changes that are made inside of the Sculpt environment are not recorded historically in the timeline. You can start off your design with this beautifully sculpted shape but if you want to change that shape later, those changes will not be parametrically recorded downstream when you exit the Sculpt tool.
