- [Instructor] When you're working with 3D models that come from 3D scanners inevitably, you will have meshes that need a little bit of repair. As you saw in the previous section, our Tech Studio does a nice job at doing some repairs, but I end up using other tools quite a bit to help with repairing meshes that might need a little bit more work. The software that I recommend is Meshmixer. Meshmixer.com, M-E-S-H-M-I-X-E-R.com. This is free software from Autodesk that is custom designed for a couple of purposes. One, is to work with STL files and STL files alone. This is not for quad-based modeling or anything like that, this is meant to work with triangular polygonal meshes, which are STL files.
