- [Instructor] There are a wealth of software applications out there in conjunction and in partnership with Fusion 360. Fusion 360 is just that, a fusion of multiple different products. It does a lot of things pretty well, but it does nothing excellently. Fusion 360 is a competent solid modeling tool, the 3D modeling right there, that's the core of what Fusion 360 does, but Fusion 360 can run simulations, create generative designs, do some more sort of industrial design work, create G-Code paths for CNC mills, lots of different things, but Fusion 360 is not Autodesk's first or primary product for this area. Autodesk Inventor is what was Fusion before Fusion was Fusion. In fact, if you look at old videos for Fusion 360, it was actually called Autodesk Inventor Fusion. They then changed the name to Fusion 360 to differentiate it, but you'll see a lot of similarities between Fusion 360 and Inventor. Now, Inventor is professional-grade software. It costs a lot more than Fusion 360 does…
