Creating components and assembling a joint
- [Instructor] Let's explore how to create components and add a joint so we can rotate the lid into position for 3D printing. Let's start with the bottom of the box. I'll click on bottom box and then right click on it and choose create components from bodies. And now you will see that at the bottom of my browser I have a new component. I'm going to move all of the bottom parts into this component. I'll click on bottom hinge and then I'll hold down either the Command or the Control key to select the rest of the bottom pieces and click and drag them onto the bottom box component. Let's repeat that for the top box. Click on top box, right click, create components from bodies. I'm going to turn on this pin, then hold down Command or Control so I can select all of those top parts. Click and drag them onto the top box component. Now we're ready to assemble a joint. Under the assemble menu, choose as built joint and then zoom in nice and tight on our hinge. I'm going to select the top and…
