Join Taylor Hokanson for an in-depth discussion in this video Copy the master strut sketch, part of Learn Fusion 360: The Basics.
- [Voiceover] Alright, so now that we have…an illustration here of a so-called master strut,…we can use that to make copies in component form…without redoing the same work over and over again.…So you'll see I've named the strut Master Strut…and put it here on Sketches.…I'm not worried about this element being a component.…I'll drag a box to select it…and hit Command + C on the keyboard.…And then after highlighting the top level…of the browser, I can right-click and say New Component.…And then I actually have to create a sketch…to paste this into.…
And we only have to do this the first time.…I also know I have five struts left to create,…and those are J, M, K, C, and F…according to our diagram.…So I'll rename this component J.…And then while that's selected,…and you should note that all it contains…right now is origin information,…I'll make a new sketch and select its plane.…And then I'll just hit Command + V for Paste.…I don't want these things to paste exactly…right on top of one another…because they'll be hard to see.…
This course is an overview of the interface and the modeling, sculpting, and rendering workflows in Fusion 360. Taylor Hokanson shows how to import reference images, use the sketching tools, extrude 3D shapes, combine components into assemblies, and render animations that show your designs in action. Plus, learn how to sculpt organic shapes by editing T-Spline forms. This course has everything you need to use Fusion 360 to translate your ideas into elegant CAD drawings and fabrication-ready designs.
