- [Instructor] Older 3D CAD systems required the use of multiple files to make even a simple assembly. Part of the power of Fusion 360, is shedding the baggage of complex file relationships so that people without years of experience can develop designs in a far more natural and explorational manner. However, you need to understand when some of that structure is valuable, in order to take advantage of the simplicity and flexibility of Fusion 360. Now we'll begin to develop our assembly by creating the top first. I'll start the "Extrude" tool, and select the profiles needed. I can drag out the value and of course, make changes such as making it symmetric with the whole length in the dialogue. We can set the distance value, or if I begin to type a parameter, such as width it will pop up on the screen. We can fill it in and click OK to develop that top. Now what we've created is a body.
