- [Instructor] I want to have a quick addendum to my comments about accuracy. This class is not meant for technicians running advanced metrology machines, where you have to be accurate down to fractions of a millimeter for reverse engineering or manufacturing goals. Rather this is how to accomplish reverse engineering on a budget or as a hobbyist or a prosumer. With that said, if you get a good scan like this, you don't want to use just the scan. You want to use whatever tools you have to get the accuracy that you need. For example, we have these goggles here. If we're in Meshmixer and we go to the Analysis to Measure tool, I can click on this area right here to see how thick the frame of these goggles are. As I drag around, we see that it is pretty consistent at 5.2 or 5.25. Drag that around. Pretty consistent right at 5.25 millimeters. Now remember my scanner is accurate to about .2 millimeters, so there may be…
