- [Voiceover] One of the most important aspects…of working in 3D, especially when you're working…on top of an existing scene, is to set the ground plane.…So let's begin by dollying back out…and panning the image up…until she's the right kind of scale for this image.…We can go to the View menu…and make sure that the 3D ground plane is visible,…and there it is, overlaid on top of the ground.…
The trick here is to get this to match the background.…And we can use these controls to do that.…We can spin it around using the Orbit control.…The difficulty is, how do we know what angle to place it at?…Well the answer is, this slide at the back is the horizon,…and the horizon comes at the vanishing point…of all of these background lines.…
So we need to set the horizon at the eye height…that we took the photograph with,…and we also need to use visual clues within the image…to align our grid to the background scene.…We can see that this red line, which marks the…X axis, is rising up relative to the bricks behind.…So let's tilt that down.…
