Set duration and funding goals with the Basics tab

- Now let's talk about funding duration and funding goal. There are two ways that you can set your funding duration, either the number of days or picking a specific date and time. If you choose the number of days, Kickstarter allows you to choose between one and 60 days. They recommend 30 days or less, as the average. Now that might seem counterintuitive. Longer would seem to be better. More time to raise more money. But that's not necessarily the case. Running a Kickstarter campaign takes a lot of energy. The longer the campaign goes, the harder it is to maintain a high level of energy. Running a campaign for less than 30 days allows you to stay focused and maintain a high sense of urgency. I recommend that you run a project within a 30-day calendar window. Psychologically, people will remember that your project ends at the end of the month.
