Desktop and mobile apps

- In this movie, we're going to talk about accessing the Frame.io desktop, as well as the mobile app, and there's quite a few different ways that you can access Frame.io. The most straightforward is to actually go to your web browser, and simply type in frame dot io. From here, if this is your first time accessing Frame.io, you're going to want to sign up here, by simply entering your email address. Inside of your email, you'll just have to authenticate, to make sure that you're a real user, and then you'll have access to the Frame.io platform. Now, another thing about Frame.io, besides desktop app, is its integrations with other post-production software. You can find out more information about this by simply heading to the Integrations tab. If you head here, you'll be able to see all of the different types of integrations where you can access Frame.io. In fact, for Final Cut Pro X, by heading to the App Store, you're able to download an extension, and then inside of Final Cut, you can then access Frame.io from there. So, if I click on here, Frame.io's web page will actually lead you to the App Store. So if I click on this Download to the App Store button, you'll see that it'll lead me to another page, and ask me if I want to open this up in the App Store. Once I do, it will head to the App Store, and if you don't have Frame.io installed, it will ask you to install it, right here. By simply clicking on this, and installing, this is now going to be available for you inside of Final Cut Pro X. So, inside the actual application, when you're working in a project, to access Frame.io, simply head to the Window menu, head to Extensions, and select Frame dot io. You'll see a pop-up window shows up, and in order to login, you're going to want to enter your email address. So I'm just going to type in my email address, which is associated with my account. It will ask me to authenticate. So you'll see here, inside of Frame.io, I have access to my actual team, and, from here, I'm able to actually create a project, or even drag-and-drop assets, inside this window. Now, the process is similar for other applications, such as Adobe Premiere Pro, and just to show one more of these, I'll head back to the Frame.io integration page, and you'll see both for Premiere Pro and After Effects, the only difference is that you're going to actually download the extension, for free, from Frame.io's website by simply clicking on this button, and then entering your email address, followed by identifying what computer you're working on, whether it be a Mac or a PC. And, as mentioned, inside of Premiere Pro, under the Window menu, you'll find an Extension for Frame.io installed. You'll notice that this panel window floats up, and we can simply dock it anywhere we want in the Premiere Pro interface. Even better, if we wanted to, we could go to the Window menu, and choose to save this as a workspace, under the Workspaces menu, so that this is going to remain docked there the entire time. Just to let you know, Frame.io can be integrated into Avid Media Composer, DaVinci Resolve, as well as Slack. We're going to take a look, more in-depth, at a few of these, in the last chapter of this course. Last but not least, Frame.io is also available on iOS and Android platforms, as well as on an iPad. For this, you're going to want to access the Android or App Store, in order to download it to your phone. Taking a look at this on my phone, so here I am on my iPhone 11, and I'm just going to head to the App Store. I'll do a search for the Frame dot io app. And we should see, right down here, there's a little button for me to download, which I'll click, and this is going to install right there, on my phone. The great part about this is, once I download this, I'll be able to actually review and make comments on projects, as I'm mobile. And there you have it, a few ways of accessing the Frame.io desktop and mobile app.
