Join Jen Kramer for an in-depth discussion in this video Using the exercise files, part of Up and Running with Foundation 4.
Exercise files for this course have been made available to all lynda.com subscribers. Simply download the files to your computer, and place them on the desktop for ease of use. The exercise files are organized by chapter number. Whenever an exercise file is available for a video, you'll see yellow overlay, at the bottom of the screen that indicates the location and the name of the exercise file. If you are following this video from start to finish, which is what I'd recommend.
For Chapters two to four, you can download the starting state HTML file for the first video and use it for each of the succeeding videos in that chapter. For chapter five, there'll be a unique HTML file for each video. If you're skipping around between videos or if you get lost, there's a starting state HTML file available in each chapter. Copy these HTML files from the exercise files folder to your working directory. For me, this is the foundation folder here on my desktop.
You'll be creating this foundation folder in the first few videos as you download foundation and start working with it. In a few videos, I've given you some images to use. Drag those images to the img folder, inside of your Foundation folder on the desktop. In a few videos, I've also given you snippets of HTML and/or CSS to include in your pages. Copy and paste these snippets according to the directions that I give you. Working with exercise files can add great value to the training. However, if you don't wish to use these exercise files, you can still follow along with the videos, often using your own files and have a fulfilling learning experience.
