Flickr has a strong social and community aspect to it. You can connect with other photographers on many different levels. The platform is also designed so that work can also be made available to the community at large. Among these opportunities, you can share multiple photos with others by using albums. Learn more about this feature in this video.
- [Voiceover] A great way to share a group of photos is to share an entire album. So if you have let's say seven shots here that we have and I want to share those with a friend, a fellow camera buff. And I put them in an album with the seven shots and then I just go over to the album and I click on the share button and I'm gonna send him an email. In this case, I'll just send it to me and you can add a message if you wish. And then you click the blue share button.
Alright, let's see how that looks. I've already sent it so now I'll show you on the other side. Okay, so here's how it looks in the inbox so I have received that note. Hey, DexStory. Lynda Story sent you this. A little message there and then I click on the link and there are the pictures. And I can view them. I can download them. I can have all sorts of fun with them. Now these were public photos that I decided to send to a friend.
Just pull them together in an album. And then use the share button. Now how about private photos? Well you can do that also. Let's go back to our Flickr account. Alright, so here are a couple photos that I have marked as private and I'd like to send them to Crystal so that she can review them to see if she likes. So in this case, it'd be like proofs for her to decide which images she likes. And you can see that the photo is private. Let's look at the other one also. And there we go.
Private, okay great. So let's go back to the album. Or go back to the album's list even. We'll share. And you see we have this option, all photos public and private. Okay, so we'll just send them again. Okay, so we're set so let's send it off. So these photos can't be seen by those viewing my photo stream.
They have the private lock on them. So they're not available here. Okay, great. We'll let's check our mail and see what shows up. Alright, so here we are back in Gmail right here and now we have the Crystal portraits. So we'll click on that. And there we go. Now since I shared it with a specific person, even though they're private images, she can take a look at them.
She can download them. She can have all sorts of fun with them, decide which one she wants, and then send me an email in response. So sharing that album of images works with both public and private images. Basically, you just take the shots that you want, you put them in an album, use the share button, and then you send them off. And that person can enjoy them regardless of if you have them as public or private on your Flickr site.
