Get some quick instructions on installing Heroku tools.
- [Instructor] Heroku is a cloud provider offering hosting of applications and database services. In this course, we will be using a Postgres server hosted by Heroku, and when we finish building the final application, we'll deploy it to Heroku. In order to do this, we'll need to install the Heroku Toolbelt and get the login set up on the system. Go to the URL on the first line and find the installation instructions for your system type. Heroku offers installers for both Windows and Macintosh, and the installation process is easy.
When you install the toolbelt, make sure to indicate that you want it added to your path. After you've installed the toolbelt, type heroku login to authenticate with the Heroku servers. When you've completed this step, you're ready to move on to the next step, creating the Postgres database.
