In previous versions of Flash Pro, adding a symbol to the library that used the same name could produce errors or other problems. Flash CS5.5 has improved the management of library conflicts so you no longer have to worry about these problems. Let's take an example. I'm going to go to File > Import > Open External Library where I can select an FLA file to open just as a library. I'm going to choose stache.fla. I'll click Open and if I click on the kid symbol there you'll see a symbol name kid and it has a mustache. Now the kid symbol in the main library of my FLA does not have a mustache, so let's see what happens when I try to drag the stache movie clip over to the normal one. So I'll click and drag kid into my main library and Flash gives me some options. Because that has the same name as an existing symbol, I can choose from one of three options: don't replace existing items, replace existing items, which were the only two options available before, and now the new option to put…
