Using the Break Apart command to convert text to fills

If your main concern when you are designing an application using Flash is the appearance of your text, the best way to preserve that appearance is to break the text apart into vector outlines. Keep in mind that when you do this, the text will no longer be editable as text. That's a pretty big disadvantage. So this is really for when you really want to preserve the appearance of the text over its editability. So on the Stage here I have some text selected.

The command I am going to use to take this text and convert it to Vector Shapes is Modify > Break Apart. You will notice that we have used this command repeatedly throughout this title and that's why I recommend memorizing the keyboard shortcut, because this is a very useful way to Ungroup shapes, to break apart bitmap images, and to convert text to outlines. So I choose that command and now in the Properties panel you can see that I have a bunch of drawing objects selected. So these are actually now shapes and not editable text....
