Using the Adobe Media Encoder to encode video

Flash CS5 ships with Adobe Media Encoder CS5. This application allows you to encode video that you can then bring into Flash and display in the Flash Player. So let's take a look at how to bring video into Flash and to encode it in a format that Flash can use. To bring in a video file, you can either click and drag a file into the Render Queue or you can click the Add button in the Media Encoder. Here I'll browse to my file. I'll select Clip11-tahoe.mp4. So I'll click Open and the file is then put in there. So I can choose which file format I want to use. For the Format, I'll click the dropdown. and I can either choose H.264, which Flash can understand, or FLV | F4V. FLV and F4V are video formats designed for Flash. F4V is video designed for Flash use. that uses the H.264 codec. So let's choose FLV | F4V. From there, I can choose the Preset. When I click the dropdown menu, I can choose several different presets. I'm going to choose F4V - Match Source Attributes (Medium Quality). From…
