Swapping and duplicating symbols

When you are working in Flash, sometimes you will want to swap an instance out with an instance of another symbol and sometimes you will want to duplicate a symbol. We will look at how to do both of those in this movie. First we'll look at how to swap an instance. So I have two roses here and let's say I wanted to swap one out with another instance of a symbol. So in the Library I have a few different instances of different flowers. So let's say I wanted to swap this rose out with the Flower4 flower. So to do that I'll select the rose on the Stage and then in the Properties panel, I'll click the Swap button.

This opens up the Swap Symbol window. So in this window I can just select the symbol I want to swap with, which is Flower4, and then click OK. Now Flower4 is placed there instead of the original flower.
