Creating seamlessly looping animations with movie clips

Using movie clips you can create seamless animations. In this movie we'll look at how to do that. To start out I'm going to show you the animation that I've created in the Flash Player. So I'll test the movie, and just notice the background elements animating. They animate in a seamless loop. I accomplished this by animating two graphic symbols having one act as a buffer. To see how that works, I'll select the hills in the front on the screen, then I'll convert that to a movie clip symbol and then I'll drop the graphic symbol inside of a movie clip by going to Modify > Convert to Symbol. For the Type I'll choose Movie Clip and I will name this FrontHillsAnimation. Now I'll double-click the hills into the timeline. So now I'm inside of FrontHillsAnimation and I have the graphic symbol of the hills on the Stage. The first thing I'll do is make a copy of the hills. So I'll pan a little bit to the side and then Option or Alt+Drag the hills to the left. That'll create the copy. And just as…
