Copying and pasting shortcuts

The keyboard shortcuts are pretty much the same on Windows and on Mac for copying, cutting, and pasting. Command+X or Ctrl+X to Cut, Command+C or Ctrl+C to Copy and Command+V or Ctrl+V to Paste. Flash uses these keyboard shortcuts just as you would expect, except maybe in the case for Cut. So let's use the Selection tool and select the kid on the stage and I'll press Command+X to Cut. I'll create a new layer and on the kid layer I'll paste the artwork with Command+V. Notice that he goes to the center of the screen. Now if you look under the Edit menu you'll see that Paste in Center has a keyboard shortcut of Command+V. Paste in Place is what you want most of the time, which pastes an object exactly where you cut or copied from. Notice that the keyboard shortcut is the same except for it includes the Shift key.
