Using the 9-Slice Scaling tool

Fireworks has a really neat tool that lets you rescale objects without distorting their edges. It's called the 9-Slice Scaling tool. So let's take a look at it and see how we can use it on a project. So here, I have a button that I want to use to mock up a form element, and I don't want to use the word OK here, I want to use a different word. So I'm going to modify this button and scale it to maybe fit something larger where OK is right now. So first thing I'm going to do is I'm going to choose the Magic Wand tool, and I want to get rid of this slight border that I have here, this light gray border. So I'm going to click on that and it did a nice job of selecting everything. If you have a problem with it, you can increase or decrease the Tolerance. That will kind of choose more or less of the color that you picked on. So let me reduce that down. That looks pretty good. So now that I've got that selection done, I'm going to hit the Delete key.
