- [Voiceover] Well, hello there, I'm Tom Green, professor of interactive multimedia, Adobe Community Professional, Adobe education leader and self-confessed Fireworks enthusiast. Having been an avid Fireworks user and community member since the Macromedia days, I've watched the application evolve into the multiscreen graphics creation tool it has become with this version. That explains why I'm just so thrilled to teach this course. Are you a web designer? Then you are just going to love the new CSS properties panel.
Select an object in Fireworks and copy and paste the CSS properties, including rounded corners and effects for that object directly into a web editor. Looking to develop mobile applications? The jQuery mobile theme feature of Fireworks CS6 let's you create a theme, manipulate or add icons to a theme, and Fireworks creates all of the code necessary to quickly apply that theme in an HTML editor. If you're new to Fireworks, this course will teach you the ins and outs of the program.
And if you're already a Fireworks user, you'll learn what's new and what's changed in CS6, such as color spaces and the chromatic color picker, which is a dream to use. The RGBA color space makes its debut so you can apply opacity independently to both the stroke and the fill of an object. If you're interested in rapid prototyping and wireframing, then you are just going to love the beefed-up common library and templates that have been added to Fireworks.
There've been improvements to the layers panel and the properties panel and you'll see that the properties panel will make you more efficient, and the emerging workflow between Fireworks CS6 and Adobe's new HTML5 web animation tool, Edge, is simply exquisite. So roll up your sleeves and prepare to get covered in pixels up to your elbows as you discover the thrill of mastering Fireworks CS6.
