Creating commands with the History panel

The History panel is one of Firework's gems. It records every action you perform within Fireworks, and it also lets you do one little trick. It allows you to build your own commands based on some of the actions you've performed. So let's take a look. I'm going to create a new document, just Command+N or Ctrl+N on a PC, just give it an 800 by 500 pixel Width and Height, and hit Enter to accept. And then I'm going to click on this Rectangle tool. I have the History panel already showing here. If you don't have that showing, just go to the Window menu and select History. So now when I draw something on my workspace, the History panel is going to show me not only what I'm doing, but it's going to record every step. So I do that Rectangle, and then I'm going to make sure that it's 90 pixels by 90 pixels, so I'll type those values right here. Notice that it's recording the transformation. I'm also going to add some Roundness to it, about 25 pixel looks really good. It recorded that as well.…
