The danger of deprivation mode

- If you've ever tried to change your eating habits, you know how after a few days, your body will desperately crave french fries or a brownie, or a piece of lasagna with gooey melted cheese. Sorry, I got a little lost there for a second. My point is, that denying ourselves something has the perverse effect of making us want it even more. Some of that is physical. Like with food where changes in blood sugar cause our brains to literally obsess over the thought of sweet gratification. We can also crave the dopamine release that comes with consumer gratification. Here are three ways to protect yourself from the dangers of depravation mode. One, focus on what you are saying yes to, not just no. When we're in locked down with our finances, we spend a lot of time telling ourselves no. No extravagances, necessities only.
