- [Instructor] All right, welcome back. In this example we are going to look at a self storage example. Now let's take a look at some of the basics for self storage. So for self storage we usually just have sort of two options, right? We can either build on an existing just piece of land or convert an existing building into self storage. And then there's the cost to either construct new or to convert the existing building into the self storage itself. Now operations wise, we're going to have a mix of units typically. You're going to see some small units, large units, maybe even temperature controlled units. So for example, some markets, especially in kind of dense core urban markets where you have a lot of users and some higher end users who may want to store expensive wine that needs to be temperature controlled.
